Mercure Telford Madeley Court Hotel

Castlefields Way, Madeley, Telford TF7 5DW, UK – 01952 680068

Being a big traveller and not picky the hotel itself was very quirky. The dinner at night was top class and generous portions. The service was also excellent. However disappointed with Breakfast. Food and service was very poor. Presentation was poor. Staff were young and very unprofessional. When checking out it was like he an obstacle course walking over leads as cleaner had Hoover lead wrapped around everywhere proper H&S hazard. Just a few areas for improvement otherwise beautiful hotel and good views of lake. Would definitely stay again.

Great place. Not too busy when I stayed so the staff were a bit sparse. The breakfast was great and served by charming staff. Dinner at the bar was definitely below par. Rooms were large and well equipped, veering towards the tawdry.

Telford Hotel And Golf Resort

Great Hay Drive, Sutton Heights, Telford TF7 4DT, UK – 01952 429977

We felt welcomed by the Receptionist on arrival. Our room was clean, comfortable, a good size and had a view of the gorge in the distance. The pool, steam room and sauna were well kept and relaxing. Bar area was comfortable. Breakfast was reasonable. Only negative for our stay was the hairdryer in the room was useless, an old fashioned one where you need to keep your finger on the button to use it. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Visited for a spa day with a friend. Our day included use of the pool (lovely, especially the heated loungers by the steam room and sauna), a treatment (very relaxing massage) and lunch (a bit odd as it came in a TV dinner style tray and was not really what we expected. The fruit salad was barely a garnish, for instance). Overall though a really nice experience.

Tontine Hotel

Tontine Hill, Ironbridge, Telford TF8 7AL, UK – 01952 432127

Beer was alright. Fire was warm. More of a novelty pub, not a bad place for a pint.

Okay pub. Service average. We came here during the day on a Friday in February, mid afternoon. Nice tile work in the entrance way. That's about it really. The White Hart Restaurant & Cafe Bar

10 Wharfage, Ironbridge, Telford TF8 7AW, UK – 01952 432901

Staff were genuine, pleasant and accommodating when we called to book for a Fri eve meal. The pub is tastefully decorated and has a pleasant atmosphere. We were extremely impressed with the menu choices and when our meals arrived, we were pleased to find the food well executed and as enjoyable as the menu had promised. There was a good and reasonably priced wine list as well as menu choices for our toddler that included; but also extended beyond, the usual '' X & chips" children's fare. Staff were attentive but very relaxed and friendly. Our meal worked out marginally more expensive than its nearest local competitor, where we dined on the Saturday eve, but the overall quality was immeasurably better! We returned on Sun evening for the Sunday lunch menu and again were impressed. Would recommend without hesitation and would happily return.

Nice out door area. serve food (not all day) dog friendly. lovely interior. wide range of beers and some muffins on the counter. Great service. would recommend as part of a beer crawl or just pop in for a cheeky one.

The Golden Ball Inn

1 New Bridge Rd, Ironbridge, Telford TF8 7BA, UK – 01952 432179

We had a meal here after driving up from Reading on a Friday evening in February 2018. Good service, nice food. I had a fish course and my wife had pheasant. There was a good range of beers and the wine was decent. All in all, a great pub that we'll be visiting again

Love The Golden Ball and have for years. It has a nice olde worlde feel, super food and nice atmosphere. There's plenty of outdoor space - back and front - for summer drinks.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Ye Olde Robin Hood Inn

33 Waterloo St, Ironbridge, Telford TF8 7HQ, UK – 01952 433071

Well what can I say the 5 stars says it all. Tony and his staff could not be more welcoming. Our room via private entrance from the pub. Beautifully furnished very comfy bed and large spotless bathroom complete with fluffy towels ! Breakfast was a delight ordered the night before and served on hot plates. Lovely. Had a lovely bar meal too.

We visited this restaurant on Mother's Day with a family of 8 after a day out a ironbridge Victorian museum. We all had the carvery which was very good. A really good choice of vegetables, a good selection of sweets as well, excellent could not fault the food in anyway. The staff were so friendly would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting ironbridge. A well deserved 5 stars

The Half Moon Inn

174 Salthouse Rd, Telford TF8 7LP, UK – 01952 884443

We dropped in without booking at the chance of getting a table. They luckily squeezed us in. Very friendly service, all table service. Food came at a reasonable time and was very tasty. We would definitely go back but we would book to ensure we get a table (this was on a Saturday evening) I can imagine this place being extremely busy in the summer. Right on the river Severn with plenty of out door seating. I think it's dog friendly but double check.

Very accommodating! Great place by the river. Kitchen and waiting staff get a BIG THUMBS UP food amazing and waiting staff extremely polite and nothing too much trouble for them. Will be back for another stay here for sure, beats any large chain hands down!

Meadow Inn

Buildwas Rd, Coalbrookdale, Ironbridge TF8 7BJ, UK – 01952 433193

This is a traditional Marston's pub on the outskirts of Ironbridge. There is a good atmosphere and the hosts are very welcoming. The lunchtime food offering is good and excellent value, two main courses for £12. The bridge and shops are a pleasant walk from the pub alongside the river.

Our Sunday lunch was excellent. Plentiful and very hot. Lots of fresh vegetables and very tender lamb. Will definitely be eating Sunday lunch there again.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
