Best Western Valley Hotel

Buildwas Rd, Ironbridge, Telford TF8 7DW, UK – 0844 387 6134

Excellent room, service, the best hot chocolate Ive had in years. Restaurant was first class - waiting staff were friendly yet professional - food was outstanding

This is a quirky hotel but it seems like it's pot luck on the quality of the room allocated. Ours definitely wasn't worth the full advertised price but fortunately we had booked a couple of nights at a discount. Staff are very friendly. We didn't have an evening meal here but breakfast was very good. Location of the hotel is excellent. It backs onto a park next to the river and it is only a short walk into the village. It seems to be a very popular hotel with many business folk using it during the week. Has the potential to be excellent but certainly our room needed some refurbishment.

Mercure Telford Madeley Court Hotel

Castlefields Way, Madeley, Telford TF7 5DW, UK – 01952 680068

Being a big traveller and not picky the hotel itself was very quirky. The dinner at night was top class and generous portions. The service was also excellent. However disappointed with Breakfast. Food and service was very poor. Presentation was poor. Staff were young and very unprofessional. When checking out it was like he an obstacle course walking over leads as cleaner had Hoover lead wrapped around everywhere proper H&S hazard. Just a few areas for improvement otherwise beautiful hotel and good views of lake. Would definitely stay again.

A warm welcome and friendly staff. Beautiful grounds inside and out. Historic rooms in shared space, a modern bar and modern bedrooms - a good combination. Loved the wood panelled lounge and that food could be served there as well as in the bar during the day.

Telford Hotel And Golf Resort

Great Hay Drive, Sutton Heights, Telford TF7 4DT, UK – 01952 429977

Stayed here on a short business trip. It is an excellent place, with very friendly staff. Checking was a breeze and the room was well equipped and very clean. The food in the restaurant is tasty and service is immaculate. The hotel has quite a big pool with a sauna and a steam room and once again staff are friendly and helpful. We left very early, but we got a packed breakfast and the night guard even opened the bar to make us coffee to go. Highly recommended.

We booked a spa day we rang before hand to see whether they provide slippers which they's aid they did. When we arrived we were told there was no slippers and that some would come on delivery that day. We were there from 9.30am - 13.00pm and never got slippers. Whilst this is only a minor issue it did cause annoyance as walking around the pool and facilities with no slippers is horrible. The facilities were good and the treatments were also done to a good standard. We also had a lucnh which was good, however the starter was a tomato and basil soup, and I didn't state I was lactose intolerant. The waitress and chef did not know whether the soup actually contained any daily products.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Ladywood House

Ladywood, Ironbridge, Telford TF8 7JR, UK – 01952 882822

Lovely location, quirky place, friendly owner, tasty breakfast, comfy bed and, nice bathroom. Everything we could ask for in a b&b.

Don't let the overly rustic exterior put you off! Fantasticly helpful and welcoming establishment. I only stayed one night with my family of 4, as I was attending a local wedding as best man, but it was as if we were regular guests.

Ye Olde Robin Hood Inn

33 Waterloo St, Ironbridge, Telford TF8 7HQ, UK – 01952 433071

Great position. Clean tidy and well catered pub b and b. Good service and home cooked food.

Came here for a few drinks whilst visits Ironbridge. Lovely pub, lovely atmosphere in there. Food that was being served looked lovely, was gutted that we had already eaten but will definitely eat there next time we are in the area.

The Half Moon Inn

174 Salthouse Rd, Telford TF8 7LP, UK – 01952 884443

Great location and atmosphere with a vast range of foods to choose from. On my visit the wait staff was slow and forgot a few requests; but, they were polite and courteous on every interaction. I personally had the Half Moon Jalfrazi which was presented well and smelt amazing; however, it tasted a bit bland and didn't have much of a spice to it. I'd definitely recommend the Inn for drinks and lunch, and possibly even a evening meal as I have no bearing on what they're other food options tasted like.

Been here loads of times and the food has always been amazing. This evening a group of 9 ladies went for a 4 course christmas meal which again was amazing and was served by the lovely Brett who couldnt do enough for us. All the staff are lovely friendly and hospitable and cant recommend this place enough! Merry Christmas all xx

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Stayed there a few times Lyn and Ron the mangers always make us feel welcome extremely clean site fantastic location and short distance from the town centre and attractions great site will definitely be returning recommended to all .

My wife and I had a 6 night stay in our motorhome in the this lovely little site, The campsite is situated on the outskirts of Telford just a few minutes drive in to town or to local attractions. The site has approximately ten serviced hard standing pitches, a washing up area, a clean heated shower and toilet block, and chemical toilet facilities. Not sure if animals are allowed. Recommended.
